the first time i read this post by eunny about steeking, i remember actually laughing out loud, thinking, "yeah--like i'd ever *CUT MY KNITTING!*" i giggled sporadically as i skimmed the rest of the post, finding it at once informative and hilarious. she's a great writer (and now editor), that eunny, but i knew for sure that day that she had to be just a little touched. no worries--we all are, right?
yet here i am just 14 months later eyeing the bauhaus fair isle sweater in the current issue of interweave knits, thinking it's the perfect going-away/birthday gift for my "little" brother (he turns 16 around labor day but is easily six feet tall) as he leaves for hockey/boarding school in new england, and i realize that it will require me to learn to steek.
