Andy Hutelmyer DJ

What can I say about Andy? He is awesome. He played everything I asked for, nothing I banned, and the songs I gave him freedom to choose for me were fabulous. Tim wanted a special version of the Pitt fight song for our entrance song which neither one of us had, so Andy went to the Pitt bookstore and bought a CD with the special version on it and told us he had found it. He kept the evening moving and everyone was commenting about how great he was.

Chris, Rachel, and Cara were fabulous. I felt like they really catered to our needs and desires for the look we wanted. Chris even snapped some shots of my dogs at the house at my request. They were both so professional, easy going and accommodating. I have not seen the proofs yet, but I can’t wait. I would recommend them in a heartbeat.

Herman J. Heyl, Florist

Herman J. Heyl, Florist

Herman is a pro. I had always appreciated his quality for arrangements. Tim bought the first roses he ever bought for me from this shop. Herman wrapped a diaper cake I made for a friend’s baby shower perfectly for only a $1.50 about 6 months before I even was engaged or looking for a florist. This is more than I can say about the other florists in the area at the time.

He listened to my vision of what I wanted my flowers to be and looked at the pictures I brought. He was very upfront and honest about how much each type of flower I requested was. If I felt they were too expensive, he offered alternatives. He used the expensive flowers like hydrangeas and lisianthius in the bouquets only at my request. He always talked to me personally about the wedding, even if he had to call me back (in a timely fashion). Everyone kept commenting on how nicely he decorated the cake. His flowers were breathtaking at the church and the reception. I was so thrilled with them.

Sheraton Station Square

Initially, I was nervous about the Sheraton. My fears were pointless, because everything was great. The service was top notch and the food was even better than the tasting. The Reflections and Waterfront rooms were lovely and scenic. Every detail I had requested (the favors, card table, signature mat, our parents wedding pictures, cookie table) was perfect. The cake from Bethel Bakery was delicious. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.

Vicky Frey, Amazing Face

Amazing Face

Vicky did the makeup for me, my bridesmaids, my mom, and my MIL. She did a superb job. My makeup lasted all day and it looked great. I had had my makeup done by Vicky for my SIL’s wedding and loved it, so I had to have her for mine. I also had her give me a mini facial a week before the wedding and it really made my skin glow. She also uses Jane Iredale Mineral makeup (like bare minerals) so it did not irritate my sensitive skin. I will be using her for my spa needs in the future.

Salon Vivace North Hills

Heather and Missy, Salon Vivace North Hills (A+)

I loved my hair. These two did the hair for me, my bridesmaids, mom and MIL. My hair stayed in all day and I loved my updo. Everyone, even my maids of honor with thick hair, loved their styles, too. They allowed me to bring my makeup artist into the salon to make my day easier. They are so accommodating and skilled.

Clarissa's

Clarissa's (A+)

Clarissa's is fantastic. The seamstresses are magicians. My dress was very strangely put together. Gretchen said it would truly only fit someone who was 30-30-30 (that’s not me). So, they fixed it and made it even better. I also bought my tiara at their trunk show and had my veil custom made there with tiny pearls scattered all over it. Go there and check them out.

Anderson’s Candies

Anderson’s Candies (A+)

We bought our favors at the Baden location. Each box had four chocolates in them. They were reasonably priced and delicious. I grew up with  Anderson ’s in my Easter basket, so I wanted it for the wedding. I decorated the silver boxes myself with tags and ribbons.

Deborah's Bridal Traditions

Deborah's Bridal Traditions(A)

This is the place where we bought the bridesmaids dresses by Bill Levkoff. Deborah’s is a small store in Monaca, PA with excellent service. They are fairly priced and alterations are included and done well. My only complaint is that the one point bustle for the dresses did not stay. It was a hook and eye bustle but with movement the fabric was too heavy to be held by it. If they had a done a different bustle they would have been perfect. I would recommend them, though.

Men’s Wearhouse

Men’s Wearhouse (A)

No complaints here. I received a great deal at a bridal show. They had no problem giving the free tux to one of the ring bearers, and everyone looked great. The vests patterned with the perfect shade of dark violet mixed with gray and black. I didn’t want a flamboyant purple that was too girly. The guys weren’t fond of the suspenders though.
