Burd's Home Bakery (A+)

Thanks to Janie, the cake was the smoothest part of my wedding planning. She was gracious enough to meet with me, last minute, when I was in town for the weekend. She had many photographs of cakes and with her help, I was able to decide exactly what I wanted.    

The cake turned out beautiful- just as I had imagined, and delicious- I ate the whole piece, and I don’t usually do that with cake.

She only charges 95 cents/piece and gives you 12 flavors to choose from. I chose the chocolate amaretto plus white- two flavors per slice.

Mr. P’s, Greensburg PA (A+)

I’m so glad we recommended Mr. P’s to my mother-in-law, as the location for our rehearsal dinner. She told me how pleasant it was to work with the staff and customize the menu, from out-of-town. We had most of the floor reserved for our party and the florist they recommended created beautiful arrangements for the tables. The dinner was served family style- it seemed like they keep bringing our dish after dish of food…til we were all stuffed! My sisters held a surprise bridal shower for us after dinner. The staff was attentive, but stayed in the background.  This was the first time for me to meet some of my new relatives and it was nice that there was plenty of space for people to move around and visit different tables.
